brighton & Hove’s first next gen breakfast show
In February 2021, Platform B launched Brighton & Hove’s FIRST EVER youth-led breakfast show - The Rising. Backed by Youth Music’s Incubator Fund, the show has entertained, inspired and empowered young people living through this extraordinary time through interviews, live music sessions and more. We are so proud to have been joined by so many amazing guests, shared local and international stories, played the best new music and connected with so many listeners. As the world gets ready to reopen, The Rising is now on hiatus but we are planning on bringing you some special pop-up broadcasts later this year, so please keep an eye on the Platform B socials. Don’t forget that you can listen back to all previous editions of The Rising on our Mixcloud - including interviews with Lava La Rue, Squid, Priya Ragu, Iyamah, Alfie Oridinary & more! Check out some our highlights beneath the Meet The Team section below.

Youth Music’s Incubator Fund
This project is supported by Youth Music’s Incubator Fund, thanks to funding from players of People’s’ Postcode Lottery.
Youth Music is the UK’s largest young people’s music charity, wanting to equalise access to music: they focus on people who miss out because of who they are, where they live, or what they’re going through.
The Incubator Fund will enable music industry organisations to support people aged 18-25 to develop their careers and earn money through working in music. The focus of the fund is on the mutual benefit gained from bringing fresh thinking, creative and entrepreneurial new talent into a workplace or network. It will give 18-25 year olds the opportunity to deliver their own projects and receive support from music organisations through training, mentoring and networking.
